Daily Fresh Foods Group, with more than 800 franchise outlets and 1,000 licensing selling points around the world, is one of the leading global snack food retailers.

Based in Simpang Renggam, Johor (Malaysia), Daily Fresh Foods Group has expanded business into 15 countries with four branch offices located at Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Shanghai (China), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Riyath (Saudi Arabia), selling a vast variety of ready-to-snacks and desserts such as Cup Corn, Wafito, Ice Kimo, Gelato Tempo and Pop Corn through the world.

Daily Fresh’s major business activity is Corn Farming. We own 810 hectares of corn plantation in Simpang Renggam and Pontian in Johor, Malaysia and also in Bandung, Indonesia. Ours is currently the largest sweet corn plantation in Malaysia. We are also active in Manufacturing and Retailing/Trading businesses besides Franchising.

Daily Fresh Foods Sdn Bhd was established in 1997 a Malaysia’s market leader in sweet corn farming, processing and franchising. More than 70% of Daily Fresh Foods kiosks worldwide are owned and operated by local independent small and medium entrepreneurs.

DAILY FRESH: HISTORY IN MALAYSIA



HOW THEY BEGIN?

From the very beginning, the founders had a vision of creating and maintaining a healthy farming landscape through profitable and environmentally sound farming systems. With this vision, Mah Yong Plantation Sdn. Bhd. was founded in 1986 to address the needs of producing quality sweet corns.

Spurred on by the need to improve profitability for its business on sweet corn, Daily Fresh Foods Sdn. Bhd. was founded in 1997 to pursue healthy farming processing while looking for innovative ways to increase a variety of health food to the market.

Mah Yong has the largest corn plantation in Simpang Renggam and Pontian in Johor, Malaysia with more than 810 hectare of land, which is ideal for the cultivation of corn due to its abundant peat soil. By having its own plantation, the company is able to keep its product affordable and competitive. The farm churns out 275 tonnes of kernel corn monthly. Of this total, 80 percent is exported while the remaining is used for the local market.

In 1997, Daily Fresh Foods has been established a factory and processing plant in Malaysia. Daily Fresh Foods has invested a huge amount of resources to maintain a well set up food processing facilities and equipped it with the latest high-tech equipment, especially for the superior frozen system where all corn are frozen within hours of being harvested to capture the finest quality of colour, rich nutrition and natural taste. Daily Fresh has also developed the unique technique of extracting whole kernel that is "NON-CUT" from the cob. This technique ensures the original freshness, sweetness, crunchiness and juicy taste of whole corn is retained.

Daily Fresh Foods was awarded HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certification from the World Certification Society (WCS) for its signature product "Sweet Corn Kernel" on the 13th Sept 2005. Achieving this certification took months of man-hours from a team comprising of personnel from various departments. This certification is a proven testimony of the company's relentless commitment in delivering superior quality products using the latest and most advanced technology available in the modern world today. With this HACCP certification, customers are assured that the products are clean and safe for consumption.
Daily Fresh has a capable team of Research & Development personnel who are always striving to find better techniques to improve the quality and nutritional level of its products. The products, freshness is the trademark of the brand, hence all measures are taken to ensure the products delivered to the customers are fresh and of top quality. In addition, the Research & Development also works on developing new products for the market.

As for Wafito, the waffle mix is prepared in the processing plant also. It is combined with all the ingredients and according to the HACCP standards of processing. The process begins by mixing all the ingredients together with the flour and followed by being sieved out for any foreign objects. The final product of flour is then packed according to the variety of flavours. IceKimo is produced in the processing plant. The natural fruits are first peeled and cooked into puree. The pure puree is then added with all the natural ingredients before being cooked. After the cooking process, the product is then cool down and transferred to a packing machine to be packed accordingly in the different flavours. All Daily Fresh products are guaranteed of its quality, freshness and nutrition.
